God's Mailbox, Bless Yous, and too tiny for teeth!
Now that I have your attention with the title... I've had a couple people mention to me that more blogs would help make the site more interesting... thought I would give one a try, you should too!
I really enjoyed Hannah's blog on anticipating summer and Jacob's blog on the whole silent thing (very cool by the way). So... since I am with my children pretty much 24/7 (and love it by the way) that is about what I have to use as my topic. Of course, those of you who have children or have been around them at all know just how VERY interesting they can be. The things they say like how Elyse calls permanant markers 'peppermint markers' right now or how she calls sneezes 'bless yous' (that is what we say when someone sneezes...) Or when Christian asks these deep questions like, where is God's mailbox? or when he asked how the baby was going to come out...as far as he knows I have one BIG belly button! Of course there is also how he wanted me to call Daddy and get permission to punch him in the mouth to knock out a tooth so he could use his handy little tooth pillow...
Having 3 kiddos under 5 is pretty comical. From the cheesy toothless grins of little Lexi (oh, did I say toothless- I am sure most of you have heard that she has a tooth already and another on the way!!! At not even 7 weeks she started the first- even the peditrician is still in shock, at her 2 month appt Tuesday he said, 'I will honestly have to admit this is the earliest I have ever seen a tooth'. We are going to pray this second one comes in and no more for a while. We are thinking at this rate 4 year molers by a year and 1/2- YIKES, can we say DENTIST!) to the funny little comments or re-use of something you have said...they pick up on EVERYTHING. It is funny how you have to watch yourself closely sometimes... of course we should watch ourselves closely ALL the time.
Yep, life is never boring for a stay at home mommy. Always plenty to do and not enough time to do it, always someone who needs you (and though that gets frustrating at times...it feels good too!), always someone right there to accompany you to the bathroom or anywhere else you thought you might get just a few seconds of 'me time'. I know someday I will wish for those days back... the constant chatter of my little Elyse (who honestly gets in WAY more than her 8,805 words per day, I believe)... the intuitive questions from mr. Christian, the trips to the bathroom with at least one partner...
I already lay in bed sometimes (when I don't immediately go to dreamland) and think I wish I could slow life down... wish I had more time to do this or I should do this more or... I then think also... where will I fit it on my 'to do' list which is already full of things that need to be 'done'. Then I remember one of my favorite fly lady quotes... years from now you will remember the moment, not the mess. Ain't that the truth! For now I will try to help my kiddos build memories that will last a life time- a life time of Bless Yous, sending knee mail to God's Mailbox and semi toothless grins!

Hi Stacey,
Childern do funny things and make you laugh. They lighten up every thing. I think you would like the song and I'm not sure I got the title right. Your going to miss those days. It's country but I think you would like it Debbie W
