Well, not exactly free. But all you have to do to get one of these books for free is to agree to the following. Read the book. And when you're done with it, give to someone else to read, or back to me. (Does that sound bossy?) These are books that I've gotten a lot out of, and I hate to see them sitting just on the shelf.

Blue Like Jazz is a book about the Christian life lived. In this case, lived by the author Donald Miller.

I love Kurt Vonnegut. I talked about him during a communion message a while back. This is his most read work. It's a novelization of his experiences of the bombing of Dresden in World War II.

The Sacred Way examines ancient and not so ancient spiritual practices - fasting, mediation, pilgrimage - their history and their application to the Christian life today.

Sword in Storm. The guilty pleasure of the list, but hey, it's summer. A great "sword and shield" novel of life and death in an ancient world. It's the first in a series (I have the other books if you like the first one).

Kingdom, Grace, Judgment. Robert Capon examines the parables of Jesus in light of kingdom, grace, and judgment. I like this one a lot. Need to reread it sometime.
