My elderly neighbor, in Butler, was taken by ambulance a week ago in the middle of the night for coughing up blood. They found bleeding ulcers and a lump. He had surgery at the beginning of this week and is recouperating. When he gets back home, he'll need extra attention at home. He lost his wife two years ago and has struggled since this. It has been great to see how helpful and supportive the neighborhood has been in checking in on the house and taking care of his dog. Please pray for his recovery and finding the help he needs.
Sometimes we all go blind being caught up with our own lives. Last night my wife took our neighbor some dessert and got a chance to visit with him. Come to find out his wife died a couple of years ago, and his son is in the hospital right now. I'm sure he is feeling lonely, and a few prayers for him and his son would be awesome. I know there are more people out there that sometimes go unnoticed. Please pray for all of them, and it only takes a few minutes to say hello. Sometimes that one hello may be the only time they get a chance to be sociable.
True that Matt! Definitely will pray for your neighbor. Yep, I think often we don't realize how people have it. We jump at the reason they dont say anything is that they are 'rude' or 'unsociable' when it could just be they don't know what to say or are afraid to say something. Anthony and I have been talking about this lately- we all have aches all the time, heartaches, body aches, whatever it may be- ultimately there is someone who has worse. We thank God daily for a wonderful church family- can you imagine facing life without one... how lonely is that?
Aquila crews and supervisors have worked long hours out of Nevada Mo which MIke is a part of. They have worked virtually 24 hours for more then 1 day and are very tired. Foster, Nevada, and Schell Ciy are tore up. Please keep them in your prayers.
Prayers being sent up here. Thinking of Mike and all those he works with. Guess they got some pretty bad damage just south of Adrian City limits also. Hoping for a more peaceful weekend!
Please remember to pray for Gus Arndt. You may know that Gus broke his arm in Colorado at CIY. He went to the Dr.s today and they took x-rays and he is to return to the Dr.s Monday to check if he will require surgery and a pin to insure the healing of the break in his arm. Let's lift Gus up in prayer and contiue to pray for complete healing of his arm.
UPDATE ON GUS ARNDT....................Monday Afternoon
I just spoke with Darlene (Gus's Grandma) and she said that Gus had to have two pins put in his arm today. She said he is going back to the Dr. on Thursday to have his soft cast (In case of swelling) replaced with a hard cast. She thanked all of us for our prayers. Let's continue to keep Gus uplifted in prayer --- praying that his arm will now heal correctly and completely.
Bufe and Jonna's grandson, Alexander James Petty was born this morning. He is about
6-7 weeks early and is currently at Children's Mercy Hospital. They went up to see him earlier today and Jonna said that he is doing very well for his early arrival. Please remember to keep Alex and his mom (Tasha-who is at Bates County Hospital) in your prayers. Bufe and Jonna were on the way to Butler to see Tasha.
