Singing "Our God is an Awesome God." On that site, Yes I see what their saying You have to have a balance in everything. If you sing any song over and over it's not going to be special because you have wore it out. We should also be singing with understanding of the words.
Wishing your testimony was more exciting On that one I agree we need to always see what God is doing in our live not just the first time we became a true believer in him.
Booty , God, Booty At home and church doing one thing and then acting different some place else. Yes we have to remember that we are not just suppose to be a Christian at church but everywhere we go and everything we do. We are human though. The only one that was perfect was Jesus. We all sin. We make mistakes. That's why we need to reflect and repent. I'm going to mention a song Open the eyes of my heart is a good song I think. I don't think we can ever say we will be just like Jesus because we are not God just human but we can become like Jesus closer to okay What would Jesus do.
Witnessing to people that don't believe in the Bible using the Bible. I think you have to have the right opportunity to witness to somebody and I think their searching when they would be open to the bible if you can relate that something in todays world . Question for anybody reading this Don't throw your pearls to pigs or something like that that's in the Bible. What does that Mean?I think yes you can at times use the bible but I understand what was written that maybe if something that happen In your own life that you can share would be better or something else they could relate to better. Also I have to say the little I know abut evolution that I just think just couldn't believe in that. It doesn't convince me what so ever about it.
Oh no. I had one too when I worked with the youth at St. Andrew's and St. Peter's. I'll bet you're right; I think I was trying to look older due to my first teaching gig.
I see this one a lot... It kinda makes me laugh, and shake my head at the same time...
My question, is I wonder what a good approach to talking to someone about God
would look like?
I'm reading a book right now called "More Ready Than You Realize" by, yeah, that's right, McClaren. In the book he talks about what he calls spritual friendships and spirtual discussions. The kinds of friendships and discussions that last a long time and slowly bring the person into an understanding and relationship with God. It's a really good book. Like all of his books, it makes me want to do some kind of book study with it on a wednesday night or something. This one may be a bit more interesting to people or relevant than his others. I'm almost done with it. If anyone wants to borrow it, let me know.
